Re: Rear Bench Seats
I think I have one rear seat. What year are you working with. The 1969 and possibly some 1968 are different in the hinge area.

Re: Rear Bench Seats
I will dig through my parts stash to see what I have, If I remember correctly I have one complete set of frames, no foam or vinyl on them, just the metal and not sure how complete.
On a side note there is a guy on ebay that has 2 listings for the complete rear seats from a 1968 on Ebay. The back rests are attached to the hinge bracket on the later variants. The 1967 and earlier models the back rest had it own attachment points to the wheel well. I think the bolts that hold the hinge bracket are the same though. I have bought a couple items from the seller before and he has been receptive to offers in the past and they have been listed for a while now. His buy it now is $299 each with $77 shipping for each. Not sure if that is high or low but since they have been on there for a while I will go with high. The seats on ebay look to be complete and even if you had to re-drill some holes the might be the better option to get you a pair of complete seats.
here are pics of the seat in a 1969 I used to own, and they are similar to the 1968 seats the guy has listed.

here is a photo I found on the internet showing the earlier seat bracket, you can see the backrest legs are inset a couple inches from the bracket holding the seat bottom.

Re: Rear Bench Seats
These are very overpriced. If they were being sold as a set it would be closer to reasonable.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: Rear Bench Seats
that is kind of what I thought but held back. I have had success in making 1/2 price offers to him on some other items he has listed in the past. I think that is where the red 1968/9 dash cluster I have came from, seems I bought a steering wheel from him too, but not the one I am using.

Re: Rear Bench Seats
I agree he’s very proud of one bench seat.
. Let me know if you happen to dig out an old set. If not I was thinking possibly going with defender bench seats… knowing there would need to be mods to properly secure them.

Re: Rear Bench Seats
Are defender seats cheap? I know rears for FJ40 can go for $1000 for a pair unrestored.
