We are here in England with a good problem on our hands.... What we have got is over x250 Nissan Patrols for sale from our military. They are all really very good through out . They are new though ... between 1989 and 1990 , right hand drive , long wheel based with the 3.3 diesel engine. If you know any large dealers through out the world which may be interested in a part supply of them or a large army surplus company which may want them all then we will pay an intro fee to you. Try giving ColdWarRemarketing (http://www.coldwarremarketing.com) a call. Patrick there currently imports Pinzgauers and Unimogs for sale here in Colorado. He also imports tanks and such so he may be interested.David

Patrols are not eligible for importation into the U.S. unless they are 25 years or older or unless they will not be licensed for use on the roads ie. exclusively for off road use or for show/display only, but if you can't drive them around what's the point.... One could tear them down, import them as parts, reassemble them and depending on the state and their registration rules register them as a home built vehicle, that's about the best that can be done.

Alex, I still can't respond from home so I'm sending you this info to cut/paste onto the message board. Responce to x250 Nissan Patrols For Sale: Awhile back, a friend of mine who is very into Land Rovers passed along some info about importing vehicles. I kept a copy of it. The British Pacific website (http://www.britishpacific.com) referenced an article in the Sept 20th 1999 issue of Autoweek. It basically stated that importing a vehicle just got a ton easier. Currently vehicles over 25 years old do not need to meet federal safety requirements. Now the feds expanded that to cover NEWER than 25 years old IF purchased by an individual for personal use and driven less than 2500 miles per year (same as most collector car insurance policies BTW). There are a few restrictions however. First you must obtain permission from the NHTSA before importing the vehicle and you need to make a "case" why you are bringing it in : A collector model, historical significance... You may also sell it to another private party but they are also subject to the same restrictions. Second, it must be a type never sold in the US (newer Patrol would qualify since the model is different). Lastly, it must comply with YOUR states/ regional emissions laws for the year and model type. The law is grandfathered to June 9, 1998 also. Contact the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance (NSA-32), NHTSA, Room 6111, 400 7th St SW, Wash DC 20590. Good luck, David

I live in the UK and have an old Patrol which is past its best. Can these xwd Patrols be bought by indivduals? Pleaase contact ASAP Steve@xlmoto.fsnet.co.uk All the best Steve
