Does anyone want to look at a similar thing to NPCA in the UK. I live in the Midlands. There are loads of these things about..most flash their lights in recognition. Any ideas? Also has anyone, anywhere been in toch with the French Nissan Aventurs? They are supported by Nissan and do things like trailer towing up the sides of mountains!!

Maybe, although I reckon it shouldn't be independant of the NPCA, or maybe something under an umbrella similar to the ARC (Association of Rover Clubs) that exists for Land Rover clubs. Someone needs to have time to do this though..............!

I like the idea of an umbrella organization, that would be a great thing to try to get together.  Is there already a club in the UK?  And the clubs in OZ, are they Patrol specific or are they just Nissan?  I don't speak French, so....It would be great to try to get organizations together in Latin America too, and the market that I would really like to tap into is the Middles East, there are tons of them around there.  But it all comes back to how do you find these other clubs if they already exist and form an umbrella organization, and if there aren't clubs how do you get them going in a country other than our own?

Being that is was involved with the Nissan Club in Victoria, Australia, I may be able to shed some light on this matter. All the clubs in Australia have an "umbrella" organisation for the state they are in. Our club was a member of the Victorian Association of Four Wheel drive Clubs (VAFWC). They are the liason between the clubs and the local and federal governments when access to areas in the bush are threatened and also make sure that clubs are being responsible. Our club was Patrol only up untill Nissan released the trucks and then it was opened to all Nissan vehicles. It used to be the Nissan Patrol Club of Victoria (NPCV) but is now known as The Nissan 4X4 Club of Victoria. You may sell your Nissan and buy something else and still remain a member. I think you maybe able to join with a non Nissan vehicle only in special cases such as if a friend is already a member. Darren.

Just a note to say thanks for the ideas and I will ask around for a suitable umbrella organization. ARC is a possible and there is also the All Wheel Drive Club in the UK. I will get in touch with a pal who lives in Saudi and has some knowlege of the Patrol "That's the big comfortable one that goes out last to tow in the Range Rovers and make sure that we all get back from the desert". Hi I know this thread is a bit old but I'm new to this so thought I'd add my penny's worth. Re: French Nissan Clubs......? Living as I do in France, I've looked around the few mags I've bought and some of the French language websites and as far as I can see there is no Nissan 4x4 specific Club. this despite the fact that the Partol and Terrano sell well over here. I've found several French Land Rover Clubs, and the Jeep fans have 2 or 3 clubs also. Others I've seen include, Mecedes and some of the more obscure French 4x4's and kit cars. The problem is they are such common cars over here, the new models still in production and selling well from what I can see on the roads, they are not really an enthusuast model. I'm a fan of 60's Italian Motorscooters too and there are loads of clubs through out the world. This because they are not made anymore and are no sought by collectors. Cheers Gareth

Dear Gareth Sorry about the delay. Glad to hear that you're into Italian bikes and Patrols and living in France. Me too! The French organisation is Nissan Avevture and is run by Nissan France. Hope you can find them, I've had some brochures and rally invitations but can't find a web site either. happy hunting Steve
