Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
He had it towed to the transport truck this morning. Should arrive Friday. Now time to try to figure out why it hasn't run in 45+ years.

Wow, what a gem!
I'm sure it will be an easy fix and then you're going to have an awesome ride.
Beyond any hope for intervention

The tags say 1972, so I assume that was the last time that it ran, it has been garaged since then when my dad tried to repair the transmission and a few other things. It does have some rust damage on the back door, hopefully that will be easy enough to fix, never done it before.

Wow. That is one of the nicer original Patrols I have seen in a long time, and I am happy to see that you are keeping it in the family. Getting it running after all that time will be a bit of a challenge as all of the rubber parts on the brakes etc will be dried out, but you can do it.
Would love to see more pics if you get the chance!

Lucky guy. We kill you last.
Is it just me or am not alone in thinking the percentage of Patrols saved and held onto by their owners, often in great shape, is unprecedented with maybe a close second being series Rovers. A lot of barn find old Internationals but not necessarily Scouts, certainly not a lot of FJ40's, Jeeps or Bronco's percentage wise were saved or held onto by their owners. Most were treated like a red headed step child and have the hammered look to show it.
It leads me to believe that owners for the most part were very pleased with their Patrol and held a special significance to their owners more than any other 4x4.

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
Someone offered my dad $1,000 for it and he was going to accept the offer. I'm glad he told me about it before he did it so I could take it off his hands instead. My goal is to have it running before my dad passes away.

I will give five thousand cash for this vehicle. The offer is only good for 48 hours.

That looks great! Are you located near Huntsville? I usually visit there twice a year. Be nice to see in person.
