Main bearings
G'day folks
Sent my crank in to get it machined and it turned out the mains had to go to 020 to clean them up. I am in Australia and I am struggling to find a set of 020 main bearings for a 4.0p. Does anyone know where I can get some
Cheers

Re: Main bearings
The part number for Clevite that I have in my notes for the main bearings is MS-1569P
With that I found the following on eBay,
https://www.ebay.com/itm/252454718697
CLEVITE77 MS-1569P-.50mm Engine Main Bearing Set - 2956cc. The picture posted at the site has "Made in Japan" which is a rarity these days.
$39.99 here in the USA. Please note that the description the guy has (2956cc) really should be 3956cc
Let us know if you find somewhere else and some details.

Re: Main bearings
These are the no.1 bearings from clevite next to some oem bearings. Don't think they are going to work.

Re: Main bearings
some on ebay
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/29372651758 ... ctupt=true
not sure how you really know they are the right ones...
if you search on their part no - 7M1305-020 - the bearings are at repco and super cheap, but again they don't say G60.

Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Re: Main bearings
From the link you sent me, please see attached. Those bearings are for the p40, not the 4.0p.

Re: Main bearings
Definitely not. The #1 bearing pictured there with wider shoulders is for the P40.CWallace wrote:These are the no.1 bearings from clevite next to some oem bearings. Don't think they are going to work.
Are those from the link I posted?
I ordered a set from the same guy in the USA, in 0.010” undersize (0.25 mm) and they were correct. This was 3 weeks ago.
EDIT 2022-07
My comment is incorrect. The #1 Main Bearing for the P engine has wider shoulders, and is slightly smaller in diameter than the rest.
P engine
#1 bearing: 2.6852” – all others: 2.7274”
P40 engine:
All crankshaft bearings are 2.7274”

Re: Main bearings
Hello esteban
Yes those bearings are from the link you provided. Seems odd as the part number on the box is the same as the one that you posted. Looks like I will have to keep searching for some bearings.

Re: Main bearings
It is very strange that they sent you an incorrect part. The picture in the website is the same as the one I purchased for myself, although mine are 0.25mm undersize (0.010"). Please take a look at the picture of the box I received:
I also measured the inside of the shoulders of the #1 main bearing (the only one with shoulders) and got 36.5mm (1.437") Please check this measurement with your old ones and the new. Mine look to have the thinner shoulders of the P engine.
The other fact is that the bearings were marketed by Clevite are actually NDG. With the number 1001GP stamped in the shells, I found the following set on eBay Australia:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/233701844290
The description (scroll down to mid page) specifically mention "Suits P Engine only"
Hope you solve your problem.

Re: Main bearings
Received my set of ndc main bearings and they are correct. They have the same appearance as the bearings in the top of the previous picture I posted
