All I can contribute is.......we have the exact same problem and RiverPatrol says if we shim the hinges enough/properly the door will close completely so that will cost me a boat load but i will pursue that direction this fall.

This is good. A funny anecdote; last time we went up to visit L60Boerne and his lovely wife we took the Patrols out about the town. On the way back my wife couldn't get her belt latched. So she grabbed the "Oh Shit" bar instead. While turning off the highway towards the cabin her door swung open. It was not funny for her. Close call.

I have adjusted the sill plate all the way in and out and when the star clicks to lock the door it still needs to go in about 1/2 inch to close fully. My question would be does the star wheel have only one click to hold the door closed or should there be two clicks. I have messed with them and can't seen to get the door closed fully.

If memory serves correctly I think 2 clicks at a minimum are needed. Is it possible that the thickness of new weatherstripping is keeping the door from closing properly?

One thing I am certain of is ...........that you two can absolutely fix any Patrol. Plateaucal. The blue Patrol has a rebuilt VZ 42 in it now. It runs great but I need a fuel tanker in tow. Still I love it and it runs perfect.
Do you have any time in October before the roads close? We must! I'll try to plan around your schedule.

Greetings to all,

Phoenix Patrol is getting close to a transmission rebuild. It goes in the shop in the next week. The rebuild kit from 4WD in Australia should arrive next week along with a pilot bearing from River Patrol. Then if the gears are fouled 70 Rig sent me a parts transmission. If it has useable parts then great, if not then Plan B is in place. That should fix the remaining problems.

Lastly, I'm going to see if see if I can slide the seat back an inch per RiverPatrol's latest tip. I thought about losing an inch around my waist but quickly determined that wasn't practical and I am practical if nothing else.
