true 69 patrol

Post by 1969nisspatroller »

Hey Patrollers,

I posted a couple months ago that I was starting my true 69 project and it's finally finished. My dad bought this thing back for me in the late 90s and we worked on it here and there but never managed to give it a good restore. Well 20 plus years later I've finally managed to complete my project. It's been a very fun process and I've learned a lot about this awesome 4X4. This beauty has 13716 original miles on it. Factory built PTO works perfect. It runs and drives great for being as old as it is. Valves have been adjusted, timing has been adjusted and carb has been rebuilt. It has a professionally rebuilt starter (I had it done at a company that strictly builds and sells starters, generators and alternators), so it's basically as close to a brand new factory built starter as you can get. The brakes look and feel basically brand new (I can upload pictures of those too). Both front and rear doors have new weather stripping (as well as the door windows) and new door panels in the front doors. It has a new paint job, I did it myself so its not professional but it's not terrible either. It has a roll bar in it as well as a brand new bikini top on it; unfortunately I don't have the original hard top, but oh well this thing is awesome and I want to know what the people on here think of it. So from a collectors view point, what do the people on here think this thing is worth; I've seen all the auction sites so I've seen some high end ones and lower end ones but I haven't actually seen a true 69 with the PTO sold (I've seen a few 68s sold as 69s but not the true 69) so I don't have an actual idea and I'd really love to know the value of something I've had since I was a little kid. Thanks for all the feed back I've already gotten on my other posts and thanks for being a great community

Congratulations!  It's always nice to finish a project. As far as value it really all depends on what buyer you find and how much they want to spend. Being a 'true' '69 doesn't really have any bearing on the value, your typical buyer won't know one year from another. I'd place yours in the daily or weekend use category so that does have a bearing on the price, don't expect BaT figures.
