NZ Patrols
NZ Patrols
Hi, just joined up and keen to tap into everyone’s knowledge. I have a 1980 Flat deck G60 and a 76 donor truck. The 1980 model was first registered here in 1981 so must have been one of the last sold new here.
I’m doing a complete rebuild on it and will get it back to the way it was when it left the dealer.
I have an early column shift Willys Jeep that I restored as well….

Re: NZ Patrols
Hi Adrian, NZ Patrols seem to be abit behind on Registration Dates in relation to build dates in the Later Years, G60s ceased production in 1979, but I have seen other NZ Patrols Registered as 1980/81 and even 82 Model's.
NZ G60s were locally assembled interestingly, where here in Australia ours come out on ships from Japan.
I'm pretty well known I'm the scene and quiet knowledgeable on the G60s, so feel free to hit me up or ask here, this forum is a great place for info.
Here some minor mostly cosmetic differences between the NZ and Aussie G60s.
Would love to see the G60s, I have a couple of mates in NZ so if you require any bits I can point you in the right direction.
Cheers G60michael

Welcome to 60Patrol!
Sounds like a great project to work on. Keep us posted and yeah, we love pictures.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: NZ Patrols
Thanks guys, I’ll figure out how to put a few photos up. The 1980 model is a bare chassis now, just sandblasted and painted and the assembly has started..
Re: NZ Patrols
Hi all, it looks like I just brought a 76 Fire Patrol.
It’s going to be broken up as I have no use for a fire engine but with only 28,000km it’s going to be a very useful parts supply.
The pump system will be mounted on a trailer as a tractor PTO driven unit for fire fighting and dewatering use.
Does anyone actually collect these things?

I know a couple of Nissan Atlas fire truck owners in the US. Perhaps some of your Fire Truck parts would interest them. Do you have a web site that you post photos of your inventory to?

Re: NZ Patrols
With that low mileage, I would use that as the base, and move the body from the other.
Congratulations! Great find!
