1966 US Production Numbers
Not sure if this has been covered here, but has anyone ever found a rough or approximate number when it comes to total production numbers of Patrols and the ones that were sold in the US? I’m particularly interested in the 1966 numbers, especially the hardtop ones.

Re: 1966 US Production Numbers
I don’t think this is what I’m looking for. These are known cars. I’m talking about how many were made from the factory, unless I missed the part where that was mentioned. I want to know how many rolled out the factory in 1966 for the US, and how many were specifically hard top modelsRiverPatrol wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2026 9:00 pm Sure have: https://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1685

Re: 1966 US Production Numbers
That specific of production detail has never been available, for any 'Datsun' era model that I am aware of. We maintain the Registry simply in an attempt to know how many are still around.
There was this model guide from years ago. It talks about total production numbers and how many were soft tops. I think the totals are for all of North America, and not broken down by year. This was a close as we could ever get to production numbers. I even personally asked people that worked for Datsun Corporate during the 60's before they died, they all admitted that those numbers were never tracked.

I wonder why the numbers weren’t tracked unless they are buried in some Nissan archive.RiverPatrol wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 5:45 pm That specific of production detail has never been available, for any 'Datsun' era model that I am aware of. I was under the impression the hardtops were the less common version of the car, yet this paper suggests otherwise.

North America was the only region to receive mostly factory hard tops. Other regions received most Patrols as soft tops and put aftermarket hard tops on them right away.PereMarquette1223 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 6:31 pm I was under the impression the hardtops were the less common version of the car, yet this paper suggests otherwise.
