Bit of a slower weekend but managed to finish a few smaller jobs. Steering box is completed, painted and bubble wrapped for storage. Starter motor almost completed just need to purchase some glue to refit the sticker to the side.
Fan blasted and painted, fuel cleaned along with the handbrake assembly.

New task while its in my workshop is to clean and paint the clutch housing

It will probably be a few pounds lighter after cleaning all the grime off. :D

Finished off the bellhousing over the weekend. Tapped out the damaged threads, blasted and painted and replaced the grease nipples. Overall pretty happy with how it came out.

Ready for storage

There are some brackets on the chassis i was keen to understand if anyone knows what they were for

Nice work on the trans. The brackets are for the exhaust.

Update on project progress.

sadly the previous owner had welded a large amount of steel to the chassis which i found difficult to remove. Under the steel the chassis wasn't in the best condition so i decided to use a donor cars good bits to repair mine.
I cut out the damaged sections and replaced them and i am quite happy with the results.
I know some might comment around chassis mods but short of adding a lot of extra steel and making it look worse i couldn't find a solution to repair that i thought would present well. i may look at welding on some external plate to reinforce the welds but am yet to decide on this

one step closer to sending the chassis away to be blasted

Would you have a photo of the frame mounting nuts for the tow hook?
