Spare Parts- Smokin Hot

Post by L60Boerne »

A few of you know how much I've appreciated your most generous gifts of spare parts and I've bought my share along the way too. In the process, we have returned six Patrols to fully operational condition. Though many of the parts have been used. Many more were stored in my barn in Colorado...along with my first fully restored 63 soft top with a great PTO winch. Well, the Elk Creek forrest fire is now 2 miles away and heading ....slowly ...straight for our house and barn in Lake City, CO.

We plan to return at the first of the month to see where this stands. The firefighters are trying their best but the mountains around Lake City are very steep. It seems they will save the City and we all very thankful for that...if they can. However, our place is harder to defend and above the City. Our house has some natural buffer from the surrounding Ponderosa pines but is constructed of old growth canadian pine.....coated with many layers of stain. Still, we think the house may survive. The barn is not nearly so lucky. It is neatly tucked under and surrounded by pines.

All this to say we maybe loosing a spare parts enventory in the next few weeks.

Sorry to hear the bad news about the fires. Hope everything works out and everyone is safe and sound and that the house and the barn are spared from the fire.

This is sad news indeed. :( Praying for rain. I know how much you enjoy that place, I hope it is all still standing next time you see it.
Beyond any hope for intervention
