Patrol Radio?

Hey anybody got any suggestions or neat ideas as where to mount a stereo in a Patrol? I thought maybe someone has ran across an aftermarket type thing that would fit under the dash. Keith

I instaled a new stereo unit under the dash directly below the ash tray.  I still had plenty of room to work all the shifters.  One thing you have to be careful of so you dont burn up your new stereo is to see if it can be ran with the positive ground.  If not you have a little more work because most new units ground themselves through the ground wire and through the unit itslef.  I had to mount the stereo in a wooden box and ran a new ground wire and power wire from the battery.  It would be oppossite of the rest of the vehicle (the patrol is pos. ground, the stereo is neg. ground)  It is easier than it sounds.  Hope this helps.   Drew

     I plan to just install a amplifier under the passenger seat and run an auxiliary line to the back of my hand held CD player so I don't have to put any holes in my dash. The only problem with that is, you don't have a radio unless it's built in on your CD player. I plan on running some 6x9's off of the amp. But like I said I haven't done it yet so if any of you see anything wrong with my plan please wright in an explain.  I hope I was of some help Jeff
