SD33T info.

Post by npca-dieseldriver »

Hello, my name is Carl and I have come to this board in pursuit of SD33 information.  I don't own a Nissan Patrol, but have always liked the.  Instead I own a 1980 Scout Traveler (which I love very much) with the SD33T in it.  I love this engine that both out rigs share and hope you all would be willing to lend me any info you have on them.  What I looking for is there has been talk on another board I am member of about a 130hp version of the SD33T.  Simply, I would like to know if this is true and what year it was produced.  Also if you know how Nissan got the extra horses (i.e. more compression from the turbo or tuning the injector pump) I would like to know that too.  Thanks   Carl Wiese

Hi Carl I have some info about getting more Horsepower of your sd 33 td. I have a sd 33 td myself    Notifice  i am not so steady i English but i tried the best that i can    In my Patrol i have Turbopressure  1 Bar   You must do 3 steps 1st: From the Turbo there is a Hose so go to a lever so regulate the boostpressure (wastegate) or what they called it Take the hose off the LEVERexhaust REGULATOR  and mount a  Turbo pressure clock on it 2 there is a pressure valve on the intake so will open over 0,5 bar remove this and blend the hole 3 on the dieselpump there is a screw with plombs wirered!! There is one for max speed  UP on the pump and there is one on the downsidw of pump   remove this  and you will open for full diesel feed?   if you dont understand i will take pictures of the steps and send you
