Spring replacement source-Alcan

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

FYI, three companies in the USA make custom leaf springs. Alcan, Deaver and National Spring. All three can make you new leaf springs for your Patrol although I have never tried or dealt with National. I have had Alcan make me a few sets now and will be using them for a few more sets. They make great springs but you have to provide the specs. Alcan runs around $1000 for four new springs. I had Deaver make me a set of rear leaves for a 2004 Tacoma I had. They were not cheap but were very very nice and solved all rear suspension issues I had on that truck.

Most all Patrols I have seen out there have flat 50yr old leaf springs. Best way to tell if your springs are shot is to take some measurements. I have factory specs on this in a manual, will post that later.

Cheers
