I found it easiest to install it all as a unit with the glass in the frame as well. One trick to get that lip to go on the inside of the pinch weld is to wrap string around the frame, inside the rubber lip. Once you get the window positioned, you simply pull the string perpendicular to the window. As the string comes out it pulls the lip out and sets it on the outside of the pinch weld and into place. Its hard to explain, but once you see it done it makes perfect sense. I'm sure there are youtube videos out there showing how its done.

Great job on the install! I would like to send you a sample of my side slider window rubber I just had made. For your opinion. Far as fit, quality, and ect.. I added felt to the part where the glass runs. This should help when it gets hot and cold.

Finished my install of the rubber seals tonight. I started with the good tips in this thread. A couple of things that might help; I used the long razor knife but heated it up with a propane torch first. Cuts like butter and leaves a clean smooth surface. Devise a cutting jig. I super glued the seal ends (Loctite gel) while it was installed on the frame because it was way easier to align. Do it a little at a time. The factory seal was glued to the outside of the metal frame with contact adhesive so I did likewise. It makes it much easier to install. You can even glue the area where the splice is if you are worried.

I experimented with the super glue for the joint on some extra material (you should have 8-10 inches extra) and found that a good glue job is very strong (30-40 pounds tensile strength). That was for a 90 degree cut.

Yep, first install windows into the frame and then hoist the whole assembly up. I used lots of tape, because I am paranoid; the glass can fall out if you are not careful. Then get a buddy to hold it in place. I found it pretty easy to pull the inner seal lip around the window opening to complete the install. No string necessary. I re-used the original rubber washers under the frame to complete the fit and provide for drainage. Install new screws and done.
