Can you gat a picture of the other end of the rod where it's connected to the shaft at the bell housing? There is only one length of handbrake rod for all wheelbase Patrols because they all use the same transmission and transfer which are all the same length.

Ill send a pic in 10 minutes. I was able to screw in the pilot screw into the flange at the bell housing so it seemed like that wasnt the problem.

It's still a little hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the rod is connected to the correct shaft. You do have it installed in reverse from Esteban's picture, with the hooked end facing the opposite direct. I think you need to work with getting the hand brake lever in the right position and turning the lever on the shaft to get everything to line up.

That picture was from 8 years ago. It's an oily mess now.

BTW, I saw a tin thing or something at the bottom of Estebans shot.....is this the oil "drip" system you fabbed?

Yes. It worked good for the first 15 oil drops... and then back to the usual business.

i dont understand. i thought my setup is the same as esteban. theflange side of ebrake is closest tp ground.

Gary, I was reviewing your picture from Saturday, and it looks correct, with the exemption of the rod.

I will report tonight after some measurements to see if we can sort this out. I will try to take some more pictures.
