Welcome! Glad you find the site.

Certainly you have a unique looking Patrol, tastefully done. I do remember your other Datsun trucks. Great collection.

Regarding the radio, one solution that I did when I had my 74, was to place it in an overhead console. That way the dash remains with it's retro looks, and you don't see the radio at first sight.

Really great, Patrol.

Where did you find/obtain the safari rack and ladder? Or did you have them fabricated?

Also, what is it you sprayed on the floorboards and reach cargo area?

Thanks,

-Wade Paschall

He mentioned Line-X spray in bedliner. Looks like he sprayed the racks as well. I like the look and utility of the inside being sprayed.

Ah, missed that. Thanks. And I agree. Looks great on the floorboards and tub.

Sorry for the lack of communication guys. Thanks for all of the love. She is and forever will be a work in progress. I have been sidetracked lately with my 85' Nissan 720 4x4 as of late. I posted a picture a little ways up but will post it again as a before to my after photo and see what you guys think.

On another note the Patrol is in the shop getting some wiring done (I'm no electrician and it had some rat nests behind the ash that just needed to be sorted out) I am also relocating the Optima battery beneath the hood and going to explore closing that compartment up for possible speaker location….we'll see.

The 720 blew a head gasket on me so I decided to go for broke with the engine. I added the following:

- Comp Cams Camshaft
- Weber Carb
- Doug Thorley Ceramic Coated Performance Headers
- Magna Flow Exhaust w/ 2.25" pipe and deleted catalytic
- 3" Suspension Lift
- Bilsteins all around w/ a steering stabilizer
- 33x11.5-16 BFG KMII's
- Rays Nismo Bronze 16" Wheels

Needless to say it feels like a new truck…..but this is a Patrol forum so I will pipe down about it haha.

nice work, and i like the new wheels. how does it ride, and handle the road? now, are you going to use the old wheels or sell them? I have been looking at DT headers for my 2010 Nissan Frontier. did you use the long tube or shorty? did the headers come with new gasket? and did you like the fit, and how about gas mileage? sorry for all the questions, but i will have to live with whatever i do, and not sure if you have O2 sensors on a truck that old, but i installed straight pipes after being told my cat was bad, and wound up screwing a male / female nipple into the bung and backed the O2 sensor out of the tail pipe a bit more and that helped a lot. now that LP prices are going back down, i broke down and bought a tank full yesterday,($2.79 LP and gas in my area $3.25) and the truck ran fine, but i am afraid i might be at the point where the coil packs will start going out. ran a code of misfire on cylinder 1 the other day, cleared the CEL and now it is back on. But the code for bad cats went away. 17 MPG right now, and i need to see at least 20 MPG if at all possible. DTH claims better gas mileage but i am not sold on that part yet. man i am wound up, sorry for all this
