60Patrol

Well she is finally home. I drove her home tonight as well as running out to pick up some food. Getting the lights done was not to bad just took some time. It still needs a ton of work however it should be good to pass inspection. Once inspection is done I'm going to start at the top of the list and work my way down.
First project is something to hold the hard top on I almost killed myself getting it off.
I am looking at getting some new wheels I like the skinny small one if anyone has any recommendations. Also looking for a set of stock seats if anyone has any intel on some. And I am going to have to start looking for another full truck.

Here are some pictures from today. Unfortunately my wife was admitted to the hospital with some pregnancy issues (but is doing ok) so I didn't get to do much (darn priorities lol).
Anyhow it did drizzle a little bit today which caused me to start looking at ways to cover the patrol up (I need to think of a name).


I was happy to find that shelter halves fit well. I am going to see about sewing one up to make as a cover for the rear. This material is also what I'm using for seat covers etc. I'm going through different seats to find something that looks right and I fit in, there's not a lot of room. Going to look at jeep cj2 style seats. Anyone have good options? I would love some original seats but I see they are rare.

More to come still working on designing a storage solution for the top I would like to make something that the truck can basically drive under and lower the top down while still having it in the garage. We shall see!

Questions

First what is this? Guessing for the bottle jack?


Any ideas on where to get springs? Will any of the cj jeeps springs or anything work? If not I'll take them to the spring shop in town. Anyone have dimensions?

You are correct - that is the mount for the bottle jack. It mounts in the tub behind the passenger seat.

There are a couple of threads on springs here, just search for them. There aren't any direct bolt-in compatible springs. As I recall, Jeep springs required quite a bit of modifications to work, and there was never any conclusion as to how well they worked.

I have been looking at a few of the threads, looks like my best bet is just to go ahead and have some made.
Going to try to get some more work done tonight. I have the rear body back off to work on getting the exhaust so it doesn't rattle as well as getting some thicker rubber between the body and frame. Then to start work on the top.

Tonight I got some more paint done. Took the rear body off to get some thicker rubber between the body and frame. Started work on getting the hard top prepped, doing the window seals is not fun. Prepped some odds and ends parts as well as put a rear view mirror in. Pics will be up tommorow as I used the actual camera. The paint is not as nice as I would like it to be however seeing as it will be torn apart to redo a bunch of stuff this winter I am planning on taking it to bare metal and patching prepping and painting it. Making notes for that as well as some templates.

Wow, please don't think that you need to be sorry for that. This is an automotive forum, not an vocabulary forum. It's fine to use your thread as a diary or journal, so grammar isn't a requirement. It's not even listed in the forum rules.
