Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
You'd need a fuel pump kit. There are gaskets and little valves in the top that need to be replaced, and you won't be able to make those. Unfortunately, kits have gotten impossible to find. Maybe there are some on the shelf of an old parts store in Australia somewhere.

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
UPDATE:
I've gotten back my fuel pump from Then and Now Auto and installed it with new fuel lines.
...it's a shiny one.
Next I honed out my master cylinder and it's back to smooth like a baby's.... I've got the rebuilt kit and ready to put it back together. Question: Does the arm come out of the piston, or it is connected?? I put it in my vice and pulled on it a bit, but didn't want to damage it if it's not supposed to be free. If not, I'll just swap the rubber gasket on it with the new one.

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
Yes, the arm/rod is supposed to come out of the piston. That looks like a great match on the rebuild kit.
Nice to know that Then and Now got your fuel pump taken care of. How much did they charge?

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
Thanks! Now I know I can pull on it a bit harder to get it out.
Then and Now was $95 for the rebuild, and $12.50 for two day shipping across the US.
BTW, is there a gap measurement for the fuel pump lever and the cam in the engine?

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
There might be some spec for a clearance for the fuel pump actuator buried somewhere, but it has never been necessary to refer to it. As long as you use the original spacer when you reinstall the pump you won't have any problem.

Good stuff Marshall !
Now, if we could just get USPS to find that missing rear brake adjuster; which is somewhere in California, between Santa Clarita and your house.....

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
If i were you, i would just transfer the cup to your old piston, it looks to be in good shape. The piston in the corvette kit is an exact match other than the hole where the rod goes is not drilled as deep as the Patrol piston. I would only use the Vette piston if the Patrol piston was damaged. All you would need to do is shorten the original rod, this would be a last case scenario. You still need to free up that rod in the original piston though.Marshall wrote:UPDATE:

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
Thanks guys!
I've got everything back in today and going to bleed the brakes tomorrow and fire it up. Fresh gas back in after draining out the old. Fingers crossed!

Re: Master Cylinder and Fuel Pump problems
SUCCESS!! Today was the maiden voyage for my Patrol, and it was beautiful!
The only hitch was the master cylinder resovoir was cracked, so started leaking. After looking at AutoZone, Pep Boys, Napa and O'Reilly for a compatible one - we fabricated a temporary one.
A little Dollar Tree hunting to find the correct diameter, and... Any leads on where to find a replacement? I have a feeling this Salon Selectives will either, A) start leaking, or B) the brake fluid will eat through this thin plastic.
Now, on to the electrical leak and getting all the lights to work properly!
