sweet G60...looks mean! Yes it is me who was discussing this stuff with you on the RMP&O forum, I own RMP&O!
If your PTO bolts to the back of the transfer it is a rear PTO unit.

I should say that it may be an adapted PTO you have. But facotry Nissan PTO box is side of tranny for front PTO and back of transfer for rear PTO. Also I was wrong about the H260 rear on MQ's not having an LSD option. In fact all three rear diff models found in the MQ, C200, H233B & H260 had an LSD option. H260's on MQ's are in ALL Utes and also any HD wagons. Both with the P40 and the Sd33 but I don't think with the L28, not in Oz any ways. My 83 MQ has the C200 rear LSD....it is pretty nice for traction and does work well. But IMHO an ARB is much better. If you could confirm Rob on the rb71 that would be cool. All this "chatting" I will be adding to a (G)60 series Patrol bible like the GQ & MQ bibles found on the Outer Limits forum. So the more solid the info the better. Hardly any G60's guys online who know their Patrols that can supply this kind of info. Lot's of people could use the info though.

My pto and winch are both thomas units which maybe an oz company will confirm locker number for you but need to go to my shed for that and its pissing down so will have to wait my g6o has arb locker on rear lifted about 4 inches pto winch gps air compressor with bullbar as air storage both sway bars removed disc brakes Twin fuel tanks and 100 litre lpg tank snorkel off a hilux uhf and 27 meg cb radio mq diesel air cleaner 34 x 10.5 simex jungle trekkers on 16 in rims about to get marks 5 speed fitted (its in my spare parts car at present ) next project is a 265 hemi conversion Could I fit a locker from a mq c200 to the front of mine or are the finer spline axles too long for the g60 housing...hmmm? Could I have the only g60 with an arb locker in it?Would be good talking point.

I have heard of Thomas, pretty common in Oz, right? Our USA Patrols with PTO's are packing a Koenig winch and the factory Nissan box. So you are running the stock P engine currently? Did you do the disc brakes on front and rear or just front? Did you use MQ parts for the disc brake conversion? MQ master cylinder? I have heard that you can bolt on the C200 MQ knuckles to the old diff, ie C216. It requires you to use the C216 axles but other wise it works just fine is my understanding. It very well may be possible to fit a ARB locker for a C200 to the older C216 in the same manner you fitted the rear locker. I dunno but if you could compare a C200 to a C216 it should tell you if it will work or not. The axle length is different on these two diffs and so is spline count. I would think finding the right axle could solve the probs with axle length, spline count. Or you could have the C216 diff housing machined to except a larger axle with a higher spline count. That would be sweet as it will make the front end stronger. I think the biggest prob will be axle length and of course wether or not the R&P will fit from a C200 into a C216. If you do get that going it would be super sweet info as that means a C200 locker can be made to work in the rear C216 too so it opens up the door for a locker on our USA Patrols! You may be the only G60 guy with an ARB locker but I doubt it. Bound to be some other Aussies who have done this. I was told about modding an ARB locker 2 years ago by a G60 owner but he had not succeeded in doing it. If you can find me a Marks 5spd I will pay you some cash as a finders fee and then you got some spare $$$ for your motor swap!

Yes my current engine is a p40 The discs are off an mq and only front converted but reduced dia of rear wheel cylinders as per mq I bolted the knuckles off an mq c200 on to my g60 axle housing with the difference that mq has eccentric bearing housings on the swivel joints for caster/camber corrections so they run smaller bearings The booster is mq diesel but if you do this get a check valve for the vac line as I once accidentally created and detonated an lpg bomb in my engine bay using my brake booster Very very funny but an inconvenience when your booster is smeared all over ones engine bay I also seem to remember having to machine the tie rod nuts down to get the wheels to point where I needed ie thin them down I could easily put a c200 axle housing in with a locker but am too lazy at this point and can go further than my mates as is Will chase up locker info over weekend as well as ring around for another 5 speed ps low low in 5 speed is 46.6 : 1 and fifth gear is 0.76 : 1 in high ..... lurvly

If your motor is the stock 1969 Nissan motor it is a P engine not a P40. There is a difference and the P40 didn't get put into Patrols till 1980. Oil filter, timing chain vs timing gears, engine mounts, bell housing are all different. Didin't know about the bearing on the two front axles. But I know there is an issue with the axle length, MQ C200 is touch longer. So did you use the C216 axles with the C200 knuckels? Since the C200 is a bit wider that is why you had to mod the tie rod. The other Aussie guy I know who did this cut and shortened his tie rod/draglink. He had to modify the pitman arm too, can't recall why. Understood on the rest of the info to do the disc conversion. And good points to know too! I am pretty sure the SD33 and P40 use the same MC. Bosster is standard on all Patrols from 1980 onward. Also already know the ratio on the Marks 5spd and it is awesome! Hence the reason I am after one so much. What is your opinion on Marks doing another run of the 5spd? I seriously doubt they will but that is just my opinion!

point taken on P vs P40 I remembered I also has to straighten pitman arm so that left and right lock was same as before i could turn hard left but not right I used c216 ie original axle housing and half shafts but c200 knuckles

Hey man...thanks on the disc info. You basically spelled it out for me and all of us! I knew some of it or most of it but not all needed to do the conversion using MQ parts. And since I have not sone it myself I could not say from experience. Yewt, now with your info I feel confident I can do a disc conversion using MQ parts no probs so THANKS! If you are interested I do have info on P/S and SOA mods and what is involved plus pictures. If you won't end up doing the motor swap soon you can get a lot of power increase out of the stock P engine. I have info/pictures and can get the parts to do electronic ign on the motor and also headers. I drove a P40 last spring while in S.America with these mods and was simply amazed at how much power increase they had gotten out of the inline-6 P engine. It felt like a small block v8 and sounded sweet! If you topped these mods off with a Weber 32-35 carb or better 280Z fuel injection that P motor will scream beyond what you will expect...200+ hp is possible! IMHO

If you have info on getting a few more horses this would be good as I have a friend with stock engine The engine that came with the 5 speed has headers so will see the difference this makes as well That engine has holley 350 on it but I believe these flood at decent angles so it will have to come off
