60Patrol

Mine is 7035293 Monojet, but 1st reply back was didn't have that model. Haven't received a response back from the second source yet. I need to find their # and just give them a call.

I've got a model 7028013 Monojet that came in a pile of parts with my Patrol.

Thanks for the offer. Seeing as my carb skill are almost zero, I am trying to find a newly rebuilt one. I'm going to try to call The Carburetor Exchange out of Peoria, Arizona tomorrow.

I noticed you bought your patrol from Canada from a gentleman named Soren. Was it Sorren forsell from Surrey bc .?

I think you got my comment mixed up with the post host. I bought back 2 Patrols from Soren. He didn't have this one unless it was in his super secret stash?

I picked mine up in Hamilton, MS, but who knows where all it has been.

Also ordered a rebuilt carb last week. Hopefully it will arrive this week.

Fired right up out of a 5gal gas can today. Have to clean the tank, get a new choke cable installed, sort out a few wires, and work on the brakes.
Picked up some tires today, while what I wanted was still available, so I can at least move it around while working on it. And last picture is a piece attached to the +coil terminal with a wire spliced to the fuel pump. Any ideas what the white piece is? How should the coil wire be connected to a power source?
Got to investigate a knocking/rattling sound. PCV vent was open to the valves train. May need to adjust the valves. And I know there was an exhaust leak at the muffler.

The thing at the coil looks like a resistor. It could serve a few purposes. Sometimes they were used to eliminate ignition noise through the radio. It could also be for the alternator.

The power to the cold comes from the ignition switch. It's a black wire with a white stripe, as I recall.

It is coming straight from the switch. I bet the CB was wired to it. The wire on the other end of the white piece was cut. It was running when I bought it but kept flooding out. The new carb fired right up with no adjustments needed. The resistor will be gone with a better wire setup for the coil and fuel pump.

It is a resistor for the ignition, it reduces voltage so your points last longer. Most people don't wire them in right and it causes starting problems. Wire it in the hot wire to the coil, then run a wire from the start terminal on the starter solenoid to the coil side of the resistor, that way you have a hotter spark when starting. Or throw a pertronics in there and forget about it.
