Congratulations and Welcome to 60Patrol.

For Colombia, you have a very rare short wheel base Patrol.

You should start a dedicated thread for it, and post more pictures.

Finally got two working horns in my patrol! Figure it's probably been 30 years since the steering wheel could produce a honk! (stock horns were absolutely shot, so two aftermarkets did the trick, and chasing down grounded out wires was a pain, but they work like a charm!) I take every small victory as a huge win workin' on these Nissan beauties.

Lots of patrol work over the spring. Re-did all the output seals for the transmission and transfer case. New speedo cable. Added a PTO transmission hub while I was down there ( haven't installed winch yet or shift lever through floor.) Ran new fuel lines and re-did the interior/exterior of gas tank, new clutch slave cylinder, and rebuilding forward drive line and u joints. And finally rigged the ceiling in the garage to store the roof for summer. I'm sure I'm missing things. No more patrol work this summer. Time to enjoy her

Congratulations on the jobs done!

Great picture with your sons! Certainly they'll enjoy the Patrol a lot with the top off. Looks like you've figured out how to install the top back working solo

What product did you use for the inside of the fuel tank?

Lots of good work done there, it should reward you with some fun this summer. I like the solution for the roof. I'd thought of doing that myself but never had the proper garage for it.

Grinding outside rust and repainting the outside was done first. I didn't have leaks, so i wasn't worried too much about having to repair the tank in that sense.

Esteban, i used a KBS coating fuel tank sealer kit. #53000. about $70. The key seemed to be in the prep work. inside had lots of rust and rust flakes. Took it off and filled it with a lot of media (bolts, nuts, washers) and rolled it around for what was probably an hour to loosen the crud and get the lions share loose. After that, many rinses with water and then the KBS rinsing and bonding/etching agents.... then the final coat....final coat had to be poured in, all holes plugged and then rolled around for a couple hours as well, then extra poured out.. Took a few days of waiting for things to dry in between steps....

finished it off with a new fuel sending unit from ebayer anpira83 from colombia. Works perfect, much more accurate than the old crusty one that was in there.
