50car & moore: After thinking about it, I agree about the rear driveshaft. Iirc removing it from the transfer case was a bugger.
River-Your comments and concerns on the body of the 1962 have me waffling on this project as I respect your input and evaluation. I hate being indecisive.

My comment is only regarding the wall to the tub behind the seats. If you install some aftermarket seats or from another car, you have no choice but to remove that portion. The only thing you loose is some cargo practicality but nothing else. For me it will be the least of concerns.

I had considered cutting the tub wall out of my 66 similar to this one....

Pretty neat mod.

I've never professed to be an engineer, but it certainly would seem that with that modification to the tub you're loosing some structural integrity with the body. With the rear barn doors on the other end there is nothing keeping the tub - and body that it's attached to - from flexing outward. I've seen a soft top that actually had a similar problem, even though the tub is intact. But the rear of the tub was flexed slightly outward, the barn doors wouldn't line up.

...and we are still waiting....having some title issues that are made more difficult as the DMV office is closed.

Looking through projects I came across this. I ended up buying this patrol. She never mentioned anyone else was interested. I have her running and driving and it runs great. Just had to put the original fuel system back together, and rebuild the carb. Currently being torn down and this thing is solid. No rust anywhere. Scored the parts rig too, terribly rusted out, but spent probably 8 hours just getting everything loaded up and out of there. Was a total pain.

I plan on launching a build thread. I gotta get my laptop going as through the phone I’m having difficulties posting pictures.

Interesting. Usually phones are the easiest way to post pics. One handy tip for pics: email the pictures to yourself. When you send the email you are either prompted or can select the size to send the pics. Choose medium (even large works ok) and send it to yourself. Once you receive the email the pic has been resized, you should be able to use that resized picture with no problem.
