Original 60 series Patrol wheels, and substitutes

I set up a filter/search pattern for all OEM-sized (16x6) steel wheels, that have the correct 6 bolt pattern, the correct backspacing for a patrol (3.5- 4.25 inch) and a 4 inch or larger center bore, listed in the Summit Racing catalog

any/all of these wheels would work with everyone's favorite 235-85r16 tire size... or with a 7.50x16 bias ply:

(For a couple minutes, I stared at those white-spoke wheels and starting thinking "hmmm... If I did white-spokes on my Blue 66, and put an olive drab canvas top on it, it could be a nice tribute to RP's Patrol that was used in the Dream Garage ad campaign... ) And then I'd have to talk her into sending me one of those coffee-mugs

But, then the other side of my brain took over and said: "WHITE SPOKE WAGON WHEELS? Are you kidding me?..... NO"

Back on “Deluxe”...
My 68ish came with the two-tone seats in front, they are now redone the same.
My rear jump seats are all black. Were there deluxe options available there, also?
I’ve only seen pics of custom fancy jump seats.
Also, any other known deluxe features? Hubcaps, sun visors,etc? Or were those random options?

I don't know that the rear seats ever had a 'deluxe' option, just the fronts. Was the picture you saw in a brochure? I think hubcaps were considered an option, and starting in '68 visors were standard. Interesting though, in the US the '68 and '69 Patrols only ever had the 'deluxe' seats, and, I don't recall having seen the two tone seats in other countries.

Good info, thanks! To clarify, the only pictures I’ve seen of anything other than black rear seats were later ‘custom’
jobs. They looked good. I think they were possibly on MWB or LWB. The short seats might look too ‘busy’ if done similarly.
Just dropped my jump seats off at upholstery shop last week...I considered fancy options, but went for basic, boring, black.

Here is another great substitute for OEM 16x5 Patrol wheels: courtesy of user Edgar:



These are 16x5 6-lug Chevy truck wheels that came on 51-72 chevy pickups.

same dimensions (16x5) as early-OEM patrol wheels
correct 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern

will accept all the popular tire sizes for stock Patrol 16 inch wheels:

7x16 bias
7.5x16 bias
215/85r-16 LT radial
225/75r-16 LT radial
235/85r-16 LT radial


Center bore on these old chevy wheels is variable, so best to find a set that originally came off a 4x4 truck, or you might need to have the center bore enlarged to fit the Patrol front hub.

On the original post, you showed a BFG All-Terrain TA tire installed on a 15" multipeice (split) rim. What size tire was that? I just obtained a 69 Patrol and it needs tires badly and I'd love to run the BFG's on those same rims.

They are 30x9.50R15 LT.

I run that same size on that same wheel. It’s a nice fit and look.

The tube is a 700/750R15 TR150.
NOTE!! The valve stem hole is offset in these wheels. If you can use your original tube-protecting “flaps”, do so.
Seems the only new flaps available have the stem hole centered. You will need to plug that hole and create a new offset one. My tire store “professionals” buggered up my tubes and valve stems badly by cramming parts together that did not align.
