Mad4hws,
Sadly, Liar's Lair that was big enough to sustain our whole troupe is no more. After 15 years I moved off of it last December because the rancher kept packing it with goats and sheep. It got worse and worse.

So at this point I have a small, but very beautiful place about 12 miles West of Llano. It is just a holding place until I can secure a bigger one. I enjoy hunting axis as well as whitetail deer. The problem is that last year's deep two week long freeze killed about 50% of the axis deer population. So finding a large scale place is very hard right now.

What I would offer is that if everyone would commit I would put together a weekend on the 06 Ranch near Alpine. That would be 300,000 acres of Patrolling Paradise. But we need to plan and need to pay the ranch for the weekend. I say this because we ned to be fair to the extended family, not just the owner I know. Typical large TX ranch situation.

Anyway...that would be a great private patrol.

L60Boerne,
That sounds like a great time. I need to get busy on fixing up my patrol. I have a lot to do and don't think it will be ready next summer - but maybe. Would it be sacrilege to join in the adventure with a jeep from Hertz?

Spam stores well, maybe for years. But, I just can't believe any self respecting Southerner would advocate for it. Truly these are desperate times.

Went to Safeway. 85-15 hamburger was $3.49 a pound. Got 30 pounds. Ham; 2.50 pound. New York strip, nicely marbled; $11 per pound. Cheaper New Yorks, $7 a pound. Turkey, $2 a pound. It appears that now is the time to stock up while the glut it on. Beer was cheaper than I've seen in 10 years. Everything was on sale.

I will have to add some spam to the food locker. It will look good next to a few cases of 5.56.

Sadly, King Crab was $60 per pound.

Well it could be that we are a blue State. I have not seen meat this cheap for over a decade. Craft beer for $7 a six pack!!. There were sale tags hanging everywhere. Seriously, it was odd. I'll hit the spam isle next time unless they are shipping it all to Texas.
