River - do you know of anyone from this FB Group that successfully ordered parts from Fabripartes?
Michael is requesting payment via Western Union and does not accept PayPal, which would provide buyer protection. This makes my spideyfraudsenses tingle.

River, what Facebook group was this on? I looked on 'your' Nissan Patrol 60 Series FB group but couldn't find that post. I would like to look at the 48+ pics that were posted, specifically of their canvas top set.

Thanks!

Not personally, no. And I have not seen any feedback from anyone about him, nor is he someone well known to the groups. He has only recently posted promoting repro parts for Landcruisers and Patrols. It doesn't surprise me that he is requesting to do business that way, but if he wants to cater to other countries he's going to need to become more 'Internationally payment friendly'. I am in over half a dozen Patrol groups on FB and this is the only time I have seen him post his promotion.

It was on the 'Nissan Patrol G60 Australia' group. It's a private group so you'd need to join to see the post.

All,

I have a friend from Colombia who has a contact in Bogota. His contact went to visit FabriPartesMM and it is a very real and impressive business. He forwarded me some photos of the canvas and the inside and outside of the manufacturing plant.

I am going to proceed with this order and will continue to provide updates.

Fingers Crossed,

David

Great! I for one will be especially interested in how the top looks & fits when you get it.

Question for RiverPatrol, Esteban, and others: are there differences between the soft tops/bows/rails on US-spec Patrols versus those sent to Columbia, Australia, etc? Did the tops/bows/rails change any any point during 60 Patrol production? What I'm getting at (thinking of my situation), would a soft top patterned after 60 Patrols imported to Columbia work just as well on a US-spec 60 Patrol?

I think you'll be fine. Be patient though. If he is not real experienced at shipping large items to the US there could be some glitches.

Short answer - it should fit just fine as long as it is made for a short wheel base Patrol. Longer answer is that yes the soft top frame changed about 3 times for our early US Patrols but they were all mostly interchangeable.

I have original vertical stanchions that support the sheet metal piece over the windows (stanchions are crossed out in red), but I am replacing the sheet metal pieces over the windows, which the PO hand-trimmed. And I am replacing all the canvas-support-tubes. You can see what I’ve ordered in the photo.
I just transferred half the cost via Western Union and, reportedly, the manufacturing has commenced. :eusa-pray: They even agreed to paint everything to match my truck.

Will continue to provide updates.

First 50% payment sent to FabriPartesMM via Western Union and I just received these photos of what my top (reportedly) will look like. Reportedly, the canvas is done and the frame will be completed this week. No shipping cost or US ETA yet.
I am trying hard to ignore my intense skepticism and trust that this is not a scam. I suggested that he set up PayPal/Venmo or something similar to ease future transactions.
