L60Boerne, Not sure if it will help but here's a picture of the carb I received and installed. My experience with Amazon is they will take just about anything back and its easy at least here in Wichita. Drop it off at KOHLS and you don't even have to pack it.
The 67 patrol has been way more cooperative on getting it running. Put a starter on it and it runs like a champ except for the water pump leak that I suspect is the backing plate like the 69. Brakes aren't great but both driver sides lock up. I like the cable clutch way more than hydraulic!!

I have been trying to verify the fuel pump arm geometry of the 170101-50k00 to the patrol original. Best I can come up with is this overlay of photos found on the internet. I noticed that it looks like 17010-50K00 has cast in provisions for the fuel pump primer maybe.

Progressing slowly but successfully on the 1969 patrol. Mechanical fuel pump and knock off carburetor are still working.
Had a pretty good ticking noise coming from the valve cover so decided to have a look and check the valve clearance, valve number 11 had about a 0.5" gap!! push rod had a slight dog leg in it. I really lucked out and had an extra one in a valve cover with the rocker arm assembly laying in extra patrol body I have. After fixing that it sounds like a sewing machine. I'm guessing the valve probably stuck from sitting 20 years and I lucked out with the pushrod being the weak link.
Been having fun getting all the electrical working, wouldn't be possible without all the great info on this site. Wiggled the small rectangle electrical box under the dash and my gas gauge and temp gauge started working

Upgraded the oil bath to the kohler air filters as well.
Have been battling the fuel tank funk, drained it, pulled the fuel sender and looked around, doesn't look to bad. Think I will try to outlast it with an extra fuel filter before the fuel pump.

To save money on fuel filters as I try to wait the funk out, im trying to modifying a farmall sediment bulb to somewhat look like the original on older patrols.
Also working on a 1967 patrol. Found out my water leak is from the weap hole in the water pump. Thought I would try disassembling and rebuilding it myself and really screwed up and damaged the housing
Working on adapting a 1960's chevy I6 water pump with a chunk of aluminum. If that doesn't work out ill try a davies craig electric water pump and electric fan.

Interesting concept on the water pump. Let us know how it turns out!

Thank you for the direction on the modern carb. I bought two of them. One is now on the red 65 hunting rig and then I took my VZ 42 off the blue 66 and put the VZ on Flagstaff Patrol. Blue 66 now has one of new knock off carbs you highlighted.
I can say the NAPA knockoff Rochester we originally put on the red 65 was not durable and was delivered by NAPA with mission parts. It worked fine for a while after Eddie hand made the missing parts, but failed after maybe 200 hours one way then another.
Rolling and Patrolling,

I hope it works out for all of us, it can be a gamble on the chinesium parts. I don't understand how these parts can be made so low cost!!

On the 69 the process started with no spark and found everything rusted under the waterproof cap?? Cleaned it up and found a new set of points in the glovebox. This got it running but not very well. Tried rebuilding the Rochester carb but no improvement. I picked up a THUNDERMINGO Chinese copy of a Rochester carb on amazon and it runs great! Smokes a bit but at least it runs.
Filled the radiator, fired it up and rusty water comes pouring out the back of the water pump, backing plate completely rusted out. Had a piece of metal the right thickness so fabbed up a new plate on the bandsaw.
Mechanical fuel pump was blocked off and was using an electric. Thought it would be nice to have the mechanical back but didn't want to pay the $700 for the 17010-L6200 and seems the GOSS G635 version is not available. Typed Nissan H20 into amazon search and found 17010-50K00 for $40, took the gamble and seems to be working fine so far.
Onto the brakes and clutch. All master cylinders go to the floor when filled with brake fluid.
For the brake master cylinder, it moved freely so ball honed the bore and rebuilt it with a Raybestos MK234 rebuild kit. I had to lengthen the pushrod bore on the piston with a ball nose endmill so it would have the same depth as the original patrol. Seems to be working fine and the wheel cylinders arent leaking but brakes are still soft. I also added a tilton fluid reservoir.
The clutch slave cylinder was seized so I put it in the oven for an hour then into a bucket of water. Piston came out with a shot of air and was lucky to find it across the shop. Was able to use the piston from a 1969 Nissan 521 pickup. Should have used the clutch master cylinder from the 521 but used one for a 520 pickup. Clutch hose from a 240Z
With a litte more work on the brakes it should be ready for its maiden voyage.
Thank you for trying different parts. My clutch slave just went out the other day and I was about to adapt something else to make something common work.
What is the reason for the 521 clutch master working better than the 520? I just ordered a 521 slave and master and a 240z hose.
Also what is the reason to not use the whole 521 slave cylinder? It looks close to the original.
Im pretty close to you btw. Im in Kingman.

Kingman is really close to Wichita. I think I first saw your patrol on irate.
The 521 clutch master has the same bore as the original patrol is why I figured I should have gone with it. Seems a bit stiff with the 520.
The 521 slave cylinder is so close but the bolt spacing is not the same. I did think about elongating the holes or making an adapter plate but rebuilding the original with the 521 parts worked out well.
I apologize for leading you astray on the 240Z hose. It can be made to work with some adapters but I later found on the "Nissan patrol compatible parts excel list" that Oreillys part (Best Brake BH36507) is identical to the patrol original.
Anytime I need a part I go straight to the "Nissan patrol compatible parts excel list" first. Saves a lot of time.

Yes Im on Irate. Who are you on there? I have found many of the parts on the Patrol Parts list I have are no longer available.
Is this the list you use?
