You are right John, I looked in my service manual, same one as Grant has here. Take a look at page 17-26. That pretty much clears it up. My parts manual lists diffrent numbers for the rear cylinders but I think they will work. Parts manual doesn't list diffrent diffs though so was a little confused. Anyways I think G60 parts are a go for us USA Patrol owners. Thanks John for the info! Ian

Thanks for the info, my mistake Grant/Fud/John this site has been a great source of info for the last 2 years for me. I have had my patrol for almost 20 years without a manual, its been tuff. I have a friend overseas who ordered the parts from his local Nissan dealership who does regular trade with Japan. I hope I haven't broken any FTC regs or customs laws. The rear wheel clys were only $71.00 US$ ea. and $21 frt. The G models out of AUS were quoted at $170 ea., didn't think they could be the same. Fud you keep up the line of communication with Japan. Yea this site does help us Patrol owners...it is a great resource. Good price on the rear cylinders, shipping too. One thing to remember though is the exchange rate for USA to Australian money is good. 1 USA dollar = 1.76 Australian dollars. So for example an $8000 dollar vehicle in Australia costs just over $4500 USA dollars.

Well...I got another email for Japan today. Seems I stumped them a bit....It also looks good considering I screwed up and called a Ms a Mr. Doh! I will keep this going best I can and keep anyone intrested posted on the results, I do think it involves all USA Partrol owners and possibly others around the world. Here is the email... Because as you know, 60 series is very old type, so that we do not have part of data digitally... We will reply you until Nov.22nd. We are very sorry for your inconvenience. Howdy fellow Patrol owners....well Nissan said they would get back to me on the 22nd and they kept their word. I got a response from them today and it is some really good news! As some of you may know, the problem with buying Patrol parts here in the USA is the data base on these parts is very outdated and only contains select old part numbers. Many items that are unavailable here in the USA are still available direct from Japan!! Some of these include, turn signal bezels, knuckle flange seals, distributor assembly, rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, front leaf springs and others. All of these come back NLA if you try from a Nissan dealer yet they can be bought through Nissan of America. Out of the 37 items I questioned NoJ about 17 came back as available. All 37 were NLA here in the USA so this is very very good news. Basically here is the deal.....someone neeeds a newer parts catolage, the 1980 version and then using the newer part numbers contact NoA and order parts direct from Japan. I will put up the attached file from the email in the documents section, you need Microsoft Excel to read it but it can be downloaded for free. I am a little warry of putting up the document because some parts are only available in limited quanities and I will be POed if someone bought all of them before I get a chance....I worked hard to get this info and need to buy some things for my Patrols before I give access to you all so I am not SOL. Here is the email from Japan...... Dear Mr. Westmoreland, We are sorry for late reply. Unfortunately, NISSAN did not sell 60 series in the U.S. regularly, so that our Nissan dealers cannot identify parts numbers. We think you might get those cars via other trade companies. As we don't know which catalog you have, most of the part numbers you informed are not registered in our parts master file. Therefore, we inform the correct part numbers based on our catalog, Pub No. C-0061L Dec. 80. Please see attached. Most of the part numbers are unavailable because of out of production. However, if you would like to buy the available parts, please contact Consumer Affairs in Nissan North America. Inc. (Tel: 800-647-7261). You can get the parts via NNA. I have a little bit more info regarding the subject of Parts & Japan. I put in a call this morning to Nissan Consumer Affairs regarding this whole Japan thing and ordering parts. They were clueless, told me I have recieved bad info from Japan and that they could not sell any parts to anyone by law, plus they had no idea what a 60 series Patrol is. They then referred me to Nissan MotorSports. I spoke with a nice guy there by the name of Steve who was intrested in the subject but could not help as he deals with 510's and fairladies only. He referred me to a Nissan dealer who I then called....call number 3 of the morning. I spoke with the parts manager at this dealer who is more than willing to help. This dealer is not Automax Nisaan (NAP.com) but I feel good about who I am dealing with. The parts manager said if he can get his hands on the 1980 parts book then he can possibly supply me with a copy or at the least use it to help with ordering Patrol parts. This is a new source for parts here in the USA and I have a manager willing to help go the extra mile to establish this parts source for all of us. He knows about the Patrol and old Datsun/Nissan vehicles, he supplies Nissan MotorSports. I explained at length the situation and how I got to him....he seemed very willing to help. He explained to me how this will be handled and how he can refrence the most recent part numbers (1980) to Japan and indeed get the parts. The process can take up to 6 weeks as enough parts have to be special ordered for rare Datsun/Nissan in this country to fill an entire shipping container. Once the container is full it leaves Japan and gets distributed around the US. I asked him if it would help to get a bunch of Patrol owners to order things they need, to get the container full. He said no, lets see how it goes and if I can do this service smoothly for you then we will move forward with helping all Patrol owners. Basically I am going to be the trial person on this first order for Patrols ever handled in this fashion. Parts will undoubtly be expensive. I plan to order quite a few things for myself, if anyone is really really desperate for some things I would be willing to help get you in on this first order. Only 17 diffrent items are available on this first order as that is all I have for part numbers but these parts are not available in the USA and are things many people seem to need. Please don't flood me with requests as I can only help a couple of the most desperate right now....I was thinking along the lines of turn signal assemblies, distributor assembly or rear wheel cylinders. If you are in dire need of these items then email me off this board and we will talk about it. I am going to hold off on uploading the document sent from Japan for now. From all the stories I have heard in the last couple of months regarding people buying up all the Patrol NOS parts I am feeling a bit catious about giving out this info I worked hard to get. I am searching for the newest version of the Patrol parts book dated 1980, once I find it and have made a few orders things should begin to take shape for all the rest of you. The end result being me telling you what parts are available outside the USA and how and where to purchase them yourself. This means that before to long many parts unavailable to you for many years will be available! Hope this brings good news to some of you Patrol owners....believe it or not this has taken many many hours of work to get just this far and it is not over yet. Ian

Hey Keith! That is awesome....you have the parts book we need to open up these parts and get them available to us all!! Something to note....these updated part numbers are alot diffrent then the old ones I have in my 65 parts book. A few come up at NAP.com but I have tried to order them and they come back NLA, yet NoJ has stated to me they are available direct from Japan via NoA. So if 17 of 37 diffrent parts that are not available here are available outside the USA then that should mean nearly 50% or more of all the Patrol parts are still out there and can be bought if you have the right part numbers and the right contacts, 50% is good considering less than 15% of all Patrol parts are curently available in the USA.....can't wait to see where these leads. Ian
