I've got these goofy fittings in my 64 L320 pickup as well as my Patrol.
I've found that it's best to cut the hole in the hose considerably undersize.
Also had the best luck with no silicon or thread tape. The threads don't
really need to seal to prevent leaks, and Ive found that silicon gasket sealer tends
to make the rubber slippery so that it extrudes out from under the nut when tightened.

I let the rtv dry and pressure tested my hose and no more leaks. I put the rad back in and filled it up with new coolant and ran the motor for about 10 minutes. I'm having a bit of an issue getting my model b set up to idle and run properly. I have not connected the throttle linkage from the firewall and am just playing with the idle and linkages on the carb itself. If anyone has a idea of how to set one up I'd love some input. I'm going to try and do a bit of research as well

i managed to get the truck running but its idled really high so i shut it down. i tinkered around with the fast idle cam and got id to idle very slowly. what range should i be looking for? with no tach on the dash how do i got about setting it up. my accelerator pump seems to stick open a bit as well. any insight into tuning it would be appreciated.

Finally got around to puttering with the patrol. I put new oil and coolant in it and it was left for several weeks as I was busy. The other Day I noticed oil leaking which isn't a big concern as I know a lot of seals needs to be replaced however I noticed antifreeze on the ground and upon inspection found signs of antifreeze coming from the seams of the bottom on the clutch cover that bolts to the engine and bell housing. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? Are there frost plugs in the rear of the engine block that can leak? Any tips on finding the leak would be appreciated. Also can I just remove the engine or is it easier to remove the engine and tranny as a assembly. I don't really want to remove the front grill as it looks like I need to cut and undo the wiring harness that runs along it.

There is a freeze plug on the back of the block. Maybe all of your cooling system flushing and cleaning cleared out the rust that was caked in there and preventing it from leaking.

You'll want to pull the engine and transmission in one assembly. It can be done with the grill in place but it's much more difficult. It's pretty easy to disconnect the wiring harness and pull it out of the way. The wiring harness that goes through the grill connect to the generator, voltage regulator, tempo sender, headlight and marker light on the left side. Just disconnect those and the harness is free.

Is there any way I can check and fix where the leak is without pulling the motor. Is there a way of pressurizing the cooling system in order to find the leak?

I'm going to be borrowing a pressure tester from a co worker but after using and inspection mirror and trouble light I located that one of the rear freeze plugs is leaking. I'm assuming if one is gone the others ar soon to follow so I will be ordering a set from a komatsu with dealer for the ppu241. I'm going to need to pull the whole engine should I build it while it's out? I've got a leak down tester and was going to check all the cylinders, I did notice a bit of a knock so I'll see if I can have a look while its out. My engine and tranny are covered in old oil and grime. Any tips on cleaning it . Not a huge fan of chemicals as it goes into our water shed and we Ae on a well. Has anyone tried dish soap succsessfully

How many miles are on the engine? That would be my consideration before starting a rebuild. Its not really that hard to pull the engine so it can always wait.

Don't know what to suggest for cleaning the engine without chemicals. You could try dish soap, it will take much longer and require more effort, but it might work.
