Well I'd beed drading this repair for awhile. The lower left side door hinge attaching plate had come loose in the door frame. Upon examining all access possibilities I chose to cut through the outside skin. I then come to find out there is a internal box wall as well. After cutting into that I finally found the plate and attaching piece. I then drilled 2 holes in the door frame to weld through to the attaching strap. It worked out great. The plate is back in place and moves to adjust the door hinge. Just have to finish welding the internal wall and make a patch for the outer skin. Problem solved

That was brave. I don't know of anyone else who has tackled that.

Anyone have a set or passenger side (right) step brackets you can take a picture of. Trying to figure out if these are bent or if the curve is normal.

The curve is normal on the forward bracket... They look to be in great shape

Getting way ahead of myself. My friend was going to the chromer's so I tossed a few things in with his order. Can't wait to put these on in a feeeeew months.

Man, great work! Makes the job look not so daunting. I'll be starting the year down of my '67 in two weeks!

I was amazed today. I saw my first Patrol on the road since I was 13 yrs. old. Not counting car shows or friends. Note the FJ tail lights. Not a bad look.

My buddy that lives in Mission Viejo that I told you about. He just finally brought it home from the river. Leave a note on it for him.
I used the FJ tail lights because they were readily available, as were the FJ mirrors. Those were very vulnerable parts when doing some extreme off roading and I didn't want to sacrifice the originals. Trust me, I left some FJ trail debris a few times.
