Mdawg,

For what it is worth... I have installed four Petronix starters in four years. Two have already burned out. Just a point to a thread I read years ago...someone said they keep an extra in the the glove box. Still, they are an excellent upgrade and the first one I do simply because I never learned how to adjust the points.

I can also say I have two mosheens running on waterproof distributors. I cans ay my mechanics have much more trouble with getting those to work properly than the standard distributor.

Lastly, great range set up.

And three more Pertronix questions, resister, or no resister? And if yes, how many ohms? Mine didn’t have one in line. I assume in line between ignition and coil?

I don't have a resistor on mine and it seems to run fine, albeit at an idle as she hasn't left the stable on a drive yet.
