Greetings all keepers of the Patrol grail,
Has anyone used the reproduction 61-65 exterior door handles coming out of Columbia? If so...do tell.
Patrolling in paradise again soon,

Re: L60Boerne's Santa's Sleigh
Greeting to Patrolles Worldwide,
Here is an update on Santa's Sleigh that nw lives where it should on a large W TX Ranch.
I've had Eddie working ...like he isn't retired!
Aside from my other proects he has re- fixed parts of the hunting rig.
Whoo! It sure takes a beating out there. We recovered it just in time. I'm giving the family some driving lessons! We found it with the both U bolts broken off a rear leaf spring so the weight of the tub was the only thing holding it place. One broken shock mount, one bent shock, no brakes and the parking brake had been left on so long it almost caught fire.
The ranch owner recently told me it wasn't running so good so that tipped me off it wasn't ready for hunting season....
So after a month Eddie completed the following:
- rebuilt the Master Brake Cylinder and lines
- mounted four new shocks
- replaced the NAPA carb to the latest chinese knock off Rochester
- re-installed the choke cable ...it went missing
- relocated the tire and extra fuel to the side
- used the tire swivel for mounting the tool box (lack of internal storage is the biggest flaw of the Patrol)
- extended the tongue on the basket so a cooler isn't blocked by the toll box
It will be delivered in September for our Elk hunt. More action pictures then.
Rolling and Patrlling,
L60Boerne

Patrols certainly can take a beating but they do require regular maintenance to do so. It's a mutual payoff.
Nice setup on the rear. It looks like it would limit the approach angle significantly though.

Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: L60Boerne's Santa's Sleigh
RiverPatrol,
Life is about choices. In this case ...attack angle on one hand........cooler on the other......with a two hour drive to the nearest refrigerator.......the cooler wins. I am sure you would agree. It also makes an excellent case for te extra insulation the Yeti type coolers provide. When the ice is gone....we have no choice but to make the long sad drive back to the camp.
On another note, while it was in Eddie's shop we determined it carries just a 10 gallon internal tank. I can confirm we have driven that Patrol 10 straight hours, at an average 10-12 MPH on ten gallons.
