60Patrol

All SWB had the C216 as standard, the MWB normally have the H260 but some will have the C216.

Yesterday, spent the day working on the heater fan and housing. Got it all cleaned and ready for re-install when the time comes....
Took some time getting the gunk off the housings and cleaning everything down to the original cad plating.... The fan unit came from a 69 that was scrapped last year.... Someone was kind enough to paint the fan housing a bright orange color which preserved the original cad plating underneath..

Looks really good.

It is nice to have a heater but real nice to have the cad finish on the blower too. Mine is just metal so I lacquered it with clear. I thought of using that spray on cad but I think I have seen it on that SF Patrol and you can.......tell!

I am looking at a cad plating kit that a company back east makes... only $250.00.... yikes.... gets you 3 gallons of "stuff" along with a quart of yellow chromate to give it the yellow sheen.... Company is Caswell Plating. Their web site for the kit is:

As soon as I am independently wealthy and have no other bills, maybe I can purchase the kit for the small parts that will need plating for the restoration.....

one of my roadster buddies has something similar, and he uses two different solutions, in five gallon buckets so he can only do small parts, but his bolts and fittings turned out really nice.

That sounds interesting. Anybody else need this done? You could split costs.......I'm such a thriftster (cheapass).

made a good windshield frame out of two that I had. The original frame that came with the vehicle had been pulled back over the steering wheel and was bent all to h@ll... the second red frame was from a true 69 with the single wiper motor and two vents. The original white frame was still the two wiper motor style but only has the two vents (68-early 69 style).... In order to make a windshield frame that was true to the 68-early 69 style, i had to cut the upper inner panel from the original white frame and re-install it into the red frame. Could I have used the red frame as it was with just the single wiper motor... suppose I could have.. but it then would not have been true original for that vehicle.... signs of being overly anal?...... uh... no comment....

Great save Jeff. The thought of the frame bent down over the steering wheel gives me pain.
