Ok, I called O'Reilly and had them send a kit to my local store. I got it the same day. I removed the old plunger from my piston. To do it, I had to tear it off. It looks like the plunger is sandwiched in between the end of the piston.

I removed the new plunger from the new piston. I put it on my old piston but it doesn't have a "seat" like the new piston does so I am thinking it isn't going to work. It looks like it will just slide off (?)

I'd send pics but I lost my camera! Doooh!

Is there a groove for the plunger to seat into on your old piston? Does it look like the new piston's groove?

My piston doesn't have a groove. It looks like the plunger was incorporated into the piston. (It is a Tokico.)

Mine is also a Tokico. This isn't the original piston, but the groove looks just like this one.

Thank you! Well, I am thinking I got a bum piston. Mine doesn't have a groove.

I am going to have a friend take a look at it and see if he can make it work. If not, I may take you up on purchasing one of your Master Cylinders.

Good news and bad news:

BAD: I am stupid

GOOD: Once I "fully" removed the old plunger from my piston I realized there was a retaining ring around it to hold it inside the groove!
I installed the new plunger and it is a match. I need to clean out the Master and put it back together to test. I also have to wait for the cylinders to arrive. Feelin good now!

I just received 6 master cylinder rebuild kits that I ordered for a 53-62 chevy corvette reybestos part# MK3, NAPA part #UP3. The kit looks perfect, This is the best rebuild kit that I have found so far. The piston is even the same length, but the piston doesn't have the hole in it for the Pedal rod. Looks like you could drill a hole in it. I will add some pics later. At least the piston is identical other than the hole, it will be a good alternative if anyone needs a new piston.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to free a stuck piston? I have soaked it in PB oil for couple days with no avail. Any tricks out there to free it up? Thanks in advance.
