60Patrol

I heard Mississippi has lift laws, but with the number of super tall mall crawlers (mostly full size 3/4 ton trucks, but a few are 1/2 ton), I have to assume they are not enforced.

We cant do crap with our cars, most of the mods we do are technically illegal. But should the worst happen the insurance still need to deem the modificaton the cause of the accidents etc. Still a place you dont want to be.

That's the truth! Reading a 4x4 mag today and they mention someone being booked by the highway patrol because he had oversize brakes on his rig. Yep, fined for improving vehicle safety!

It all depends on the police officer, ive been pulled over twice on the same day by the same officer (not doing anything stupid) just for a breath test, I was driving a GQ Patrol SWB with a 6" lift & 35's, after I showed him my engineer's certificate he was ok. I think the 2nd time he was just being a smartarse. Another time i got pulled into a RTA heavy vehicle inspection station with a winch comp Patrol on the back of my truck. The inspectors didn't care about my truck (a 1980 cm80 UD), license or log book they just wanted to look at and talk about the 4wd. Most of the time if you talk to the officer politely, your 4wd looks presentable and your not doing anything stupid they leave you alone.

It's not so much being pulled over by the police but insurance.

My GU is technicially illegal when I have the 35's on with my SL. Yes cops ignore me as my car is respectable and in proportion. BUT as the car would be techiically illegally modifed, Insurance could be invalid if I was in a prang and proven the mods contributed to teh prang. Now when you have a car worth $40k plus and if you hit a BMW or something, things could get ugly.

My concern in this thread, SOA swaps are not to common in NSW and they are very obvious, would get much attention, plus unless you go down the engineers route will be illegal. The G60 is quite skinny so you really need a much wider track to go with a SOA, actually wider axles, the headaches continue. Personally a 2" lift and 33's on a G60 work well.

Reading all this stuff about the vehicle mod police makes me happy to be here in Mississippi where it really doesn't matter what I drive as long as the lights work and the window tint isn't too dark.
And it doesn't matter how many firearms I own.
I do have to pay an extra $5 my yearly state inspection because of my window tint.

Our national government is more worried about banning God and Christ from Christmas. I guess they figure once they do that, they will have free reign over all else.
They would also like to ban guns, but are struggling to get that one approved. When they do, I'll move to another country. Either Texas or Oklahoma!!!

nw AR is close enough to OK or Texas to be included in that same line of thought. with all the caves, hills, and hollers, there are plenty of places to hide out also. this is coming from a guy born and raised in Greenville, MS and i really don't miss much other than the great(rock free) garden dirt, and the crappie fishing. and my in laws are still there, five hours away

Hi everyone, after reading a lot of post (olds and news) and regarding information from other places i have no final conclusion
Definitly SOA is not an option to fit 33s, (at least not for me)
I already make an adjustment to the springs (+1") and 1" in the shackles.... but still is not enough to fit the 33s x 12.5 (i now 33s x10.5 will fit more easy but i just got this 33s x12.5 so i have to make them fit yes or yes




The tyres fit right now but there is a minimum clearance in the rear fender so I have two more options:
one it has already discussed but i want to hear opinions : REAR FENDER CUT ( you can see the black line marked , is where i´m supossed to be cutting)

or number two:
This: Spring Hanger Lift Block; i know this looks horrible but just to take the idea and make it better



So what do you think? rear fender cut or the spring hanger lift block?

My two cents: a fender cut is forever; tires are temporary.
