Most hardware stores will carry an assortment of ball bearings. If the rear counter shaft bearing can be reused I would do that. The replacement is a ball bearing style and the original is a cylindrical. The cylindrical is heavier duty, but if it's bad the ball bearing style should work. It's the only replacement I have found so far.
agree that all the bearings and the sealing surface of the seal should be replaced.
The gears can be re-polished as Ron and Esteban suggest, but if it were mine, I would just wire brush all the loose rust off the gears and let them re-polish themselves after everything is back together- it will be more noisy as these guys have already mentioned, but c'mon- who here has ever heard a quiet Patrol transmission ?
I didn't realize your patrol was a 69- For some reason I thought it was a pre-66 model...

I have a better idea. I just measured the outside diameter of the spacer, its almost the same diameter as the sealing surface of a chevy 292 or 350 harmonic balancer. What im getting at is, they make a repair sleeve for a balancer. I don't see any reason you couldnt put a repair sleeve on this spacer. The spacer is about .008" of an inch bigger in diameter. So if you get some emory cloth and sand the entire surface of the spacer down, and grease it up good, the repair (speedy) sleeve should press on with no problems. This shouldn't be too hard to do. NAPA part # 99176 $44.00 or Oreilly auto parts national seal # 88176 $34.00 if you decide to go this route, just make sure that you round off one edge of the spacer so the repair sleeve slips on easily. Also the finished outside diameter of the spacer when you are done sanding needs to be real close to 1.760" Here is a link to one on ebay for $13.00http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Harmonic-Ba ... 51&vxp=mtr

Do you have any idea how many of those press-sleeves I have fitted to GM harmonic balancers over the past 30 years...?
Here's a hint - the number is roughly equivalent to the outstanding Federal Debt of the United States.
They work really well- if the Patrol's spacer is only a few thousandths larger in diamter, then I agree with Ron- it should work like a charm...

Thanks Guys for the info on that sleeve kit. I talked to my machine shop guy and he quoted me $25 for a nice newly milled one so I'm just gonna run with it that way. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
Looks to me like the PTO GM installed in the Chevy Cruze to augment the ignition switch. I would be happy to relieve you of this potential threat.
