I have received both pocket bearings i ordered. The first one is the repair bearing (this would be used if the race on the input shaft is bad). Unfortunately this bearing didnt work, i will keep looking for one. The second bearing i ordered is a direct replacement for the pocket bearing and other than it being a bit shorter, its a perfect fit. The original pocket bearing is 24 loose needle bearings. The replacement i found is a caged needle bearing. If you are in a pinch and cant find the original needle bearings, this bearing should work fine. I found some Needle Bearings that are 3x27.8 but would have to order 1000 at a cost of $.50 a piece. That's enough to do about 41 transmissions!! Havent found any that has them in a smaller quantity yet.

It's funny these days how people at these companies don't seem to want to do anything more than they actually have to, to find a part that you want or need!!!! But I finally tracked down those loose needle bearings that we need for the transmission. They are a RBC Bearing product, part # 1723MSDEP, and can be ordered through Purvis Industries. I have 48 on order right now and when I get home I will post pics and let you know how they look. I had to call the manufacturer directly and the rep told me these are exactly what I needed only with straight ends not spherical ones like the originals. The measurements are .1183 x 1.094. Close enough for the girls I date!!

*EDIT* The price I was quoted for these was $7.45 a piece!!! That's $178.80 for one trans rebuild and the min order was 50 so double that for one order. Needless to say I cancelled that order. If I'm gonna spend that kinda money I'll order the others from China and sell off the extras but I haven't decided yet on that. Anyway just some info.

Good going! As Esteban knows i found some needle bearing the correct size in NZ here. My rebuilt box is performing beatifully. A tip on the main output shaft nut, Loctite! I used loctite 243 and torqued it to spec and so far so good.

Front counter shaft bearing Is a two piece bearing, the inner race slides out fron the rest of the bearing. So far ebay is the only source i have found for it. NACHI NJ205EGC3.

Is there a link?, also we need the transfer case counter shaft bearings and the transfercase output shaft pocket needle bearings.
