Now 11,280.

So now my plan is to buy a Patrol, do some generally cosmetic things like wash it, have it professionally photographed, and reap the rewards.

Who's with me?

Went back to look at the pictures in full size (press F11 on Windows) and I noticed a number of issues that I don't like at all.

- The steering wheel is badly cracked and eroded, to the point it doesn't match the condition of the rest.
- The gauges are is much better condition than the rest...
- Fuel pump is not connected, so probably an electric one is in place
- Original fuel filter missing
- Alternator adapted
- Aftermarket distributor
- Temperature sending gauge missing. What's there is remnant of a mechanical one, and cut
- Attention to detail in painting the shifters' boots, with overspray present... lipstick anyone?
- Missing lever to open the hood (bonnet)... so aftermarket latches are present...

Suddenly I think the price is overblown...

Great observations, Esteban...

But regarding price- that is nothing but a reflection of what someone is willing to pay.

However- I agree with you- Even if were in the market for a Patrol, I personally would have walked away from this auction the second the bid surpassed $6000

This one is a testimony to the awesome power of pressure washers, photography, and Don Julio tequila....

WOW! Approaching $12,000.00  this is a nice Patrol, but i personally would have backed out at $5,000.00 im glad to see its fetching this kind of cash it boosts up all our Patrols. Presentation and name of seller is whats fetching this kind of momey.

May I make a completely self serving comment? Shush! "Obviously it's a great value even at $42K or more!" ;-)

We all already own one or more Patrols each... The more this sells for, the more our net worth increases! Personally, I'm voting for Patrol-Hyper-Inflation! ;-)
