I am one happy Patroller! After a long test of my patience it is reality. That is the 5spd & t-case for this motor, fully rebuilt and ready to go. Just need to clean and paint them and I got some nice bling to finish them off after that. The engine all up took nearly 8 months, the trans & t-case are a long story but took years also, the clutch was purchased years ago too. The clutch is an Excedy Safari Tuff that cost me a pretty penny. It is actually suited to a TD42 but the spline count is the same on the MQ/MK 5spd and we drilled the SD33T flywheel to suit it. Rock & roll, the wait to build is over, now I just need 48hrs in a day!!
The best way to align a clutch, that is if you have a spare input shaft laying around.
Found my dump off the turbo. It is stock and benefits can be had from a custom built dump here but this is not really much of the way in mods to the engine or drive train for this project so I will probably just blast this and paint or coat and run it.
That is over 6ft of drivetrain! Good thing the Ute is LWB. Pic of the updated spin on oil filter vs the canister style originally on this engine. Upgrade required entire swap out of the oil filter housing assembly.
Maybe you mentioned before, are you driving winches front and rear?
That is the plan. Got a good PTO winch from my 83 Patrol with all linkages and shifter, ect, that is the front. Got a second one that needs a rebuild, that is my rear.
