Those are casting numbers for the engine the engine number is stamped in with a P followed by 5 digits. Should be the same number as ID plate if original. Here is a pic of mine it is on the lower part of block.

I found a source for the P40 engine rebuild parts (bearings, rings, cam, etc.) would those work for this motor? I assume they would but it would be nice to be sure

you will need PPU main bearings not P40... there are differences to concern with. I ordered all my parts from a forklift parts company. I have a bunch of notes of what parts I bought for my engine in the Projects area (1967 Patina). Or just use the search tab at the top and search for Forums about the engine kit. Parts came from Tiffin.

Hi….thought it would be neat to add my L60 patrol to the registry…per instructions I’m attaching pics of vin plate, frame stamped number matching the vin plate, and the engine number…the engine number is the only one I’m unsure of as I couldn’t find one that started with P….so I’ve included several pics for the engine, one from the cylinder head and two from the block…thanks

This is a very key piece of information.

Nissan put a lot of model P engines in Forklifts, but they referred to them as "PPU" So, whenever you are talking to a forklift supply company, reference the engine by the PPU designation, and oftentimes they will discover that they have a lot of parts, that they will tell you they don't have for the Model P engine...

but the key takeaway is that the PPU and the Model P are internally identical, part for part. The P40 is similar and some parts are interchangeable, but there are many parts for the P40 that are exclusive only to that engine. (Esteban is the Guru on knowing which P40 fits in the Model P/PPU, and which ones don't)
