That is the old school way and the right way. However, I am not sure it is cool to use compression fittings for brakes or is that a double flare? Rob? Esteban? I will now turn around three times and wave my wand and they will show up to offer an opinion.

always, always ALWAYS double flare hard brake lines and use steel NPT flare fittings. AN fittings are ok for rubber lines
