One of my Patrol has breathers that are located in the engine bay. They were on the Patrol when I purchased it.

There are 4 - both diffs, gearbox and transfer case. They are connected by a thin plastic tube from the standard breather to the engine bay.

If the water gets that deep then I'm in trouble :D

Thanks Peter, I like everything about your solution. I just wish I'd known to fix them when it was all pulled apart. It would have been so easy and cheap then.

I can say I am more educated than ever on mechanical 4 x 4 fixes. Het big news. I did lube my own axle bearings for the first time in my life this weekend. It was big day for me, though loading the grease tube in the gun was very frustrating. I think I lost the instructions and was trying to load it from the wrong end for the first 45 minutes. Once past that..... it was easy.

On another note, our local channels have had another big back to back run of Crocodile Dundee this last weekend. Had to watch, even saw the Patrol in there.

Greetings from 10,000'.

First sorte into the high country. Performance was excellent.

Thank you to all you who helped build this one. This Patrol was originally sold in CO and after twenty years it was used as a green house. Three rebuilds later and a stint in upstate Pennsylvania... it's back.

Double clutchin in clouds once again,

As it should be, it certainly looks like it belongs there. Congratulations and thanks for putting the effort in to resurrecting and now enjoying this Patrol.

Absolutely in it's natural element. Patrols were made for that country. Give me a call when you are in the area, we will try to get together for those axles.
