no pics but i found the irritating wobble that hermit had whilst traveling on the highway(occasionally she would simply rock side to side and "walk" a foot or two sideways on the road). was caused by the rear shackle hangers on the rear springs being almost completely broken off at the chassis. suspect welds from the factory was the culprit- but the cause i would guess is the heavy use she has seen with me whilst exploring mountain's at a mates place, the hours of towing heavy trailers and the daily corrugations of my main driveway (mostly the latter). combined with the ridiculously heavy rear leaf packs not allowing the springs to give and the vibration killed the welds. took me an hour to rectify neatly. discovered the eye bushes in the front of the packs are also almost worn out, so ill replace them soon, and drop 4 leaves from the 12 leaf H/D packs whilst i have the springs out of the ute......

cheers
kev

Went to go figure out what was leaking last year on my heater unit. It turned out to be that when I installed an acquired original heater I neglected the rubber grommets that keep the sheet metal holes from vibrating a slice in the supply hose. I had already taken the core out so decided to flush it in the sink with hot water and a bunch of gunk came out. It is running strong now and no leaks.Image

Opened the garage door and looked at the frame sitting there in the 30 degree coldness, closed the door and went back to the kitchen to get some hot coffee.

Lol! That's perfect! I think you have made enough headway to enjoy a break while the weather is miserable.

I'm out of town until Wednesday so not much doing however will hopefully get back at it when I get home. That bumper is still giving me grief believe it or not but I'm trying to keep from just hacking it off.

Outside temp 27 degrees f... inside shop temp... 34 degrees F.... can't wait for new shop.. that is insulated, heated for winter and has AC for in summer... :sad-pacing:

I bought a heap of plastic tubs yesterday to start organising my parts stash. It will be great to have it all sorted so I can actually see (and remember) what I've got!
