once you sort all that out.... Drums can be a pain to bleed sometime. First crank up all the adjusters until the wheels are locked.. Then bleed the brakes, sometimes if it's a tough job I use the gravity bleed system. Crack them open and let them bleed, keep the reservoir full..

The theory on the locked wheels you remove the the amount of fluid that is being used to take up the slack in the shoes.. Drums move a lot more than disc brakes..

These were other readings that I got:
At top of radiator: 172°F (78°C)
At bottom radiator pipe: 122°F (50°C)
Maybe a stupid question, but doesn’t the coolant flow from the engine into the radiator at the bottom and out of the radiator at the top? If so, shouldn’t it be cooler at the top than the bottom since the coolant has been cooled by the radiator? Or do I have the flow backwards?

Actually is the other way around. Hot water exits the engine towards the radiator at the top in all vehicles. You can look at generic flow diagrams like one on the following link:

I can't believe I've been wondering the face of this earth all this time not knowing which way coolant flows through an engine. :lol:
