Awesome Pic.... and mean looking rig.

The springs on it right now are +2", yes ? The 35's look tough.

HP got some love today. I'm a fan of bullbars but nearly every fourby you see here has one. I wanted HP to be unique and run a standard bumper ;)

Started mocking up the tub today. HP is running a GQ (I think) fuel tank and when it had the flat bed on it it wasn't an issue but now the tub floor gets in the way. I tried an extra block under it to raise the tub but then the body lines didn't flow. So chopped some floor out and I will build that section up to cover the tank.
I also cut out the front wall as it was buggered and I will fab a new wall that ties in the front chassis mounts.

That front floor and wall was swiss cheese anyway, so actually a good plan you have. No point making it harder then it needs to be. Only headache might be the filler for the GQ tank

Great read, even better when I realized it's an Aussie Storey

Cheers

Ive ditched the tub! The more I got into it the more it bothered me that it was a lot of work for a temporary solution as it would need to be done properly at some point. So I've decided to go with a flat bed option in the mean time instead.

As I mentioned before the fuel tank is from a GQ. I was a little worried about it going BOOM with all the welding going on so I though it best to remove it. Easier said than done but eventually got it out. I also wanted it out to test fit a long range auxiliary tank I got from Swerve. I could then run the original tank from OJ in the factory position. The mess on the floor is stinky water from the cross member.. not fuel!

Next was to knock up the frame for the tray. I ran a couple of straps around it to keep it square while I tacked it.

Then fitted up the rear 35's to check clearance. Needed to lift it another 75mm to clear the big rubber.

As I was working on the tray I kept looking at the empty space where the fuel tank goes on the MWB and SWB models. On a ute this it where the spare tyre goes hence the tank being up front but i wont be running the tyre there so wanted to test fit the tank, it seemed perfect for it! Sure enough its like it was made for it and seeing as though the tank from OJ is shagged it'll be perfect.

So thats it, pretty productive afternoon. Next it to finish the tray and drag out the auxiliary tank to see how it works and try and mount that. Tomorrow I'll look into seeing if i can get the main tank mounted up.

That's some great progress. Nice match with the blue paint. I think that's a good idea with the fuel tanks.

Nice to see you putting some Patrol time in.

35's look great on a G60 :D , maybe a GQ coil spring rear end might go well whilst you have the welder out  + it would match the fuel tank
