Well the prettyp40 rebuilt engine is back in and I got it fired up today...only to have water spitting out somewhere underneath. Dang..have to look at it tomorrow. This is all new rebuild so I am doubting its head gasket.must be a heat line somewhere under the front seats somewhere
Does anyone know what carb this is? I'd like to rebuild it
That looks like a Hitachi carb, I have one on my G61 that looks very similar from memory.

below is the best pic I have of the G61 carb - it's fitted to a P motor but originally the car had a P40, and I'm guessing this is the original Hitachi carb. The float bowls sometimes have a little round window for checking the float level, and some have a full glass side cover with the correct level painted on them.
Variations of this carb were fitted to a lot of the Datsuns I have owned - 1600/510's, 200B/810's etc.
good luck !
