Here's a fun one. Stayed tuned for final updates. This project looks like it's finally drawing to a close.

Great!
So the transmission in the Patrol now, was that a used one? I can't remember from previous posts.

Congrats! What is the ratio of the 4th and 5th gears of that NV4500?
It looks like the transfer case is resting on that skid plate, i would look into that and trim the plate a bit, if so...
I have had an overdrive unit for my transfer case sitting on my workbench for months, just havent had time to get to it. too many other projects going on. But it should give me a "5th gear" of 0.70:1. I wonder how that would compare to your real 5th gear, and if I could acheive 80 mph without revving too high.

The one in the video is a "brand new" transmission from AllState Gear. I don't recommend them. Since then I've put in a rebuilt replacement from High Impact Transmission and Gear. It's much better and I expect to post a new video featuring that transmission in the next few weeks. I'm in the process of cleaning up other stuff and rigging up some new sheet metal to plug the holes in the transmission tunnel.

The 4th gear is a 1:1 and the 5th is a 0.73:1. Depending on your tire size you may be able to beat mine in top speed, but if you have the original engine in there then you might not have the power to wind it up that high. Best of luck to you either way though. Make sure to post about it on the forum if you get it in there.
