Hey that's good news Esteban.... saves me from having to figure out how to box up this monstrosity...

So I have rot in both doors where The braces are. Does any one know what gauge the door metal is? Also could use a front hood badge, and a windshield vent for a 69.

Can someone take a picture of how the upper release lever attaches to the spare tire carrier? My spare tire carrier is mounted in back, as appropriate for a 1970 MWB, but the upper lever and spring came in a parts box. I have the loop on the backend of the Patrol that the lever engages into and the lower catch/post/release all work perfectly. I plan to mount a spare onto the carrier and just know the weight of the wheel and tire will overwhelm the bottom unit only.

Gearbox Questions.

I have a spare gearbox/transfer and it has two electronic sensors on it which my current gear box doesn't have.
What is the one on the top? I assume the one on the side is to show if the transfer case is in 4WD.


Also is there a filler point for the gearbox? I ended up adding oil via the dip stick.

Speedo Oil Seal

I have the following small oil seal that goes in the gearbox where the speedo cable goes in.



Which way does it go? The seal has a small metal ring/spring in one side.

It seems to be no matter which way I put it in the speedo still leaks oil.

If I didn't use the speedo cable at all, what could I plug the outlet with so it stops leaking?

The one on top is the reverse light sensor. You are correct about the one on the side. And, the dip stick is the correct fill point.

Need something to replace the drive line dust seal cork. Was thinking graphite packing. Any one come up with something that works?

What transmission/transfer case oil are folks using these days?
