Yes, those are the lifting points.
Try to hook up the hoist closer to the back, since the weight of the tranny combo will unbalance the load a lot. I see that the front panel is out, so things should go out easy.

I'm tearing down a patrol to get parts. Is it ok to store the engine diffs and transmission with the oil drained out or should I leave it in to preve corrosion

I'll vote to leave the oil inside, and even filling a little bit more. Some parts of the engine will end up exposed no matter what, like the camshaft and followers. Depending on how you setup the transmission and diffs, you can overfill them. Get some cheap dyno oil for it.

2. what seating arrangements did a mwb come out with? compliance plate says lisenced for 3. but its hard to find my answers without just asking as iv seen some have a bench seat some have rears..

1. Yours being a 78 softop should have come with the latch and stops. Even hardtops used to come with them, but I'm not sure about late models of hardtops (77 and up).
2. Seating arrangement: They all came with 2 bench seats facing each other, for 6 additional passengers. Patrols sent to Australia might differ here due to the compliance that you mention. Probably member Johnny Roadkill can answer these questions better.

Can't say I have definitive answers to those questions unfortunately - 60 Patrols in Australia are hard to find info on since the industry was a bit "how-you-going" 40 years ago.
I also have bonnets that show no sign of ever having the windscreen latches fitted...some Patrols are registered as wagons ( hardtops ), some as utes ( softtops ), and some as utes with a fixed windscreen and a styleside tray. Some utes have had the wheelbase extended to 2800mm ( LWB ) .....but still have the G60xxx chassis number instead of the 62ZG60xxx or 94ZG60xxx numbers which theoretically indicates LWB from factory so it's all a bit unclear to me.
As for the seats, I've got 4 Patrols and none have the seats in them any more - not sure if some were sold without seats as a "dealer delete" option ? The manuals suggest either a 9-person or 3-person + cargo for both soft and hardtops...
Sorry I can't be more help with this.

Thank you to both of you, big help just means my question wasn't so stupid :p could this dealer delete option also possibly explain why I have the 3 heater vents but no sign of a heater ever being on the passengers foot well? Also does anyone have any close up photos of the latches on the windscreen and how they hook up to the bonnet latch ? Just as I wil need to make/find something similar..thanks again!

How do windscreen washers work?
My 1978 G60 has a washer bottle but I can't seem to find how to make it squirt water onto the windscreen. Where is the switch??
Any ideas?

It's built in to the wiper switch. Turn the knob to the right.

Thanks for the wiper switch answer River Patrol. I have now found a switch that turns!
Another question. My fuel tank has a vapor outlet. Currently it is just open. I assume it should have a pipe on it to take the vapor somewhere. My 1968 G60 doesn't seem to have any emission controls on it. So where should the vapor pipe go? Also surely in hot weather the petrol will just vaporize! Can I close of the vapor outlet or will it cause problems?
