In 2016 we all started the rebuild of the Green Machine.
The season is over, the trains of Jeeps gone. I had finally space to recover from a bad situation so the ascent of Engineer's Pass was at hand.
The very rough 20 mile climb through 14 major landslides and 4 dramatic switchbacks rumbled under tire effortlessly. The motor never broke cadence which kept my wife supportive throughout.
Yesterday's climb was much more aggressive so I knew all systems were finally a go. That heater sure came in handy.
Thank you for all your support, parts and prayers. These type treks require fully operational equipment. I'll feel even better once Rene upgrades my brake Master this winter.

Scrolling back through this thread THX to River's link, I'm a little bummed seeing the picture of Engineer Pass, as beautiful as it is. We were supposed to arrive in CO on 5,20, but this COVID stuff messed our plans up. Don't know when we will be back now. Early retirement in a few short weeks is going to put a squeeze on the travel, Patrol, Jeep, and gun spending for a couple years.
We were there for you today. Take heart in knowing none of the trails were open on 5-20-20. So your next trip will be the bomb.
Friday we will spend the night in a yurt at 11,300 ft. I'll check it out for you.
Yes the 63 CCV5 will take is there.
Thanks for your message, we will meet there when the time is right.

The build continues! This weekend Justin, Eddie the Eagle and me (to a much lesser extent) will upgrade the front brakes from drum to disk. Then, if time permits we will take it to our hunting area for a REAL off road test of the new set up.
More to follow.

If you leave the drums in the rear you’ll need a proportioning valve to prevent lockup of the rear wheels.
That depends on which master cylinder is used. The Wilwood 260-8794 is designed for drum brakes, but has the option of removing the 'residual' pressure valve when converting to disc. https://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopi ... ood#p50790
After seeing your post and looking at the link to your previous post I say you are 50% correct!!
Only because I went out and looked at the 2 260-8794's that I have on the shelf and pulled the outlets. The one marked F did not have the internal valve and the one marked R did. From this I can only assume that this MC is setup for disc front and drum rear from the factory. After speaking with Wilwood and reading what material I could find, as long as the MC is mounted above the calipers for disc brakes then no residual valve is needed. All drum brakes require a 10lb residual valve, according to Wilwood, whether that is utilizing the one built into the 260-8794 or using an inline one with a MC that does not have the built in option like the one I'm putting on David's this weekend.
Edit: I went on Wilwood and the 260-8794 is obsolete and looks like it is replaced with the 260-7563. Its product sheet has the same reference to the internal springs but I'm almost certain that they only come with one in the R outlet. But if you are only converting over to disc fronts then this is a good choice for a MC.
The Wilwood 260-8794 was used on Pinto Patrol which is still using original drum brakes. No external proportioning valve was needed, I don't know if they did anything with the internal valve/s. Good that you clarified with Wilwood.
